Eight plastic additives commonly used in chemical industry

1. Polyethylene wax. Appearance is in bead shape

Polyethylene wax has low viscosity, high softening point and good hardness; It is non-toxic, with good thermal stability and low volatility at high temperature. It has excellent external lubrication and strong internal lubrication for pigment dispersion, which can improve the production efficiency of plastic processing. It has good moisture resistance at room temperature, strong chemical resistance, and excellent electrical performance, which can improve the appearance of finished products.

2. Polypropylene wax. Appearance is powdery

Polypropylene wax is made from polypropylene. In terms of performance, polypropylene wax has higher melting point, better dispersion and lubrication effect, better glossiness, and lower melt viscosity than polyethylene wax. It is a processing aid to replace imported polyolefin. Polypropylene wax is widely used in rubber, masterbatch, pvc and other industries, with high melting point, good lubricity and dispersion.

3. Ethylene bis stearamide/EBS. Appearance is powder or granular

(1) As a lubricant, EBS has good internal and external lubricity, demoulding property and smoothness, which can accelerate melting, reduce melting viscosity, save processing and energy consumption, increase product toughness, extend mold life, and give products a good appearance. It is mainly used for PVC.PE.PP.PS.ABS resin, as well as phenolic and amino plastics.

(2) EBS is a general dispersant for plastics, widely used in PVC products, ABS, and high impact PS. The product can also be used together with other lubricants, with a very significant synergistic effect. In the rubber industry, it is used as an anti adhesion agent, a release agent, and a hard rubber surface treatment agent.

4. Fischer Tropsch wax. Appearance is in bead shape

Fischer Tropsch wax is mainly composed of straight chain, saturated high carbon alkanes with a relative molecular weight of 500-1000, which endows this chemical with fine crystal structure, high melting point, narrow melting point range, low oil content, low penetration, low mobility, low melt viscosity, hardness, wear resistance and high stability. It is commonly used in masterbatch and modified plastic industry, with low price, but high crystallinity and easy to make products brittle.

5. Stearic acid. Appearance is powder or granular

Stearic acid can effectively improve the coating activation effect of inorganic powder and increase the fluidity of materials. For materials with inorganic powder accounting for an absolute part, if the melt flow rate is required to be large, properly increasing the content of stearic acid can significantly increase the melt flow rate of materials. However, the amount of stearic acid in the filler modified masterbatch also has a limit value, which is generally controlled at about 1% of the total mass. Excessive addition will lead to the decline of the quality performance of plastic products, and will also make the mechanical devices such as the mold lip position of the plastic product production equipment appear sticky, affecting the production efficiency and product quality.

6. Coupling agent. The appearance is white and flaky

The coupling agent has the properties of high activity, tasteless and less smoke. A small amount of coupling agent can obtain good dispersion effect. In plastics, chemicals that can improve the interface adhesion between resin and reinforcement materials; On the interface between the resin matrix and the reinforcement material, substances that promote or establish a firm bond; Coupling agents can be applied to reinforcing materials, added to resins, or combined.

7. APP powder. Appearance is powdery

Melting finger 1000+, high fluidity, solving problems such as poor dispersibility and big smoke. It is often used to replace imported APP. It has excellent dispersibility in non-woven fabric and cast film masterbatch, stable price and high cost performance.

8. A7 synthetic wax. Appearance is powdery

High molecular saturation, high temperature resistance, smokeless workshop, commonly used in meal boxes, non-woven fabrics and other filling masterbatch.
