Do you want to know Ethylene bis stearamide (EBS) ?

Ethylene bis stearamide is a new plastic lubricant developed in recent years. It is widely used in the molding and processing of PVC products, ABS, high impact polystyrene, polyolefin, rubber and plastic products. Compared with traditional lubricants such as paraffin wax, polyethylene wax and stearate, it not only has good external lubrication, but also has good internal lubrication, It can improve the fluidity and demoulding of melt separated plastic in plastic molding processing, so as to improve the output of plastic processing, reduce energy consumption, and make the products obtain high surface smoothness and smoothness.

This product contains two amide groups - c-nh in its molecular structure. Therefore, after adding plastic, the plastic products have good antistatic property and are not easy to "dust collect" "Dirty". This valuable excellent characteristic is particularly important for home appliances and instrument housings and many engineering plastic products. As a lubricant, this product has a very significant synergistic effect when used together with other lubricants. It can improve the dispersibility of other components, such as colorants and fillers in plastics.

Essential information

EBS is the abbreviation of the English name of ethylene bis stearamide. It is a synthetic wax with high melting point. The bipolar bond is highly balanced. Its inherent structure gives play to its unique compatibility and solubility. It can be used as the internal lubricant and external lubricant of most thermosetting and thermoplastic plastics. It is a good pigment dispersant, which can make the operation go smoothly and improve the quality of the final product.

Bead appearance: white fine bead solubility: at room temperature, it is not melted with water. Alcohol. Benzene. Toluene. Xylene. Naphtha. Kerosene. Good alkane. Butanol. Methyl cellulose. Trichloroethylene. Dimethyl formamide and other solvents. Acid. Alkali medium is stable.

Toxicological experiment

Non toxic, no side effects on human body. Non toxic: used in contact with food, approved by FDA, and also in line with the food regulations of many countries. Addition amount: 0.5-5%, which can be adjusted according to the addition amount of pigment and filler.

It is used as activator, release agent, pigment dispersant, adhesion inhibitor, lubricant, surface gloss agent and activator of rubber products, coating and ink additives of various plastics and synthetic resins. For example, as a lubricant, EBS has good internal and external lubricity, demoulding and finish, can accelerate melting, reduce melting viscosity, save processing energy consumption, increase product toughness, prolong mold life and give products a good appearance. It is mainly used for PVC, PE, PPPs and ABS resins, as well as phenolic and amino plastics. EBS is a general dispersant for plastics, which is widely used in PVC products, ABS and high impact PS. The product can also be used with other lubricants and has a very significant synergistic effect. It is used as anti adhesion agent, release agent and hard rubber surface treatment agent in rubber industry.

The properties of  EBS are white fine particles. The melting point of industrial products is 140-146.5 ℃ C, the density is 0.98g/cm3 (25 ℃ C), non-toxic, insoluble in water, stable to acid, alkali and water medium, but the powder has wettability above 80 ℃. It is insoluble in most common solvents such as ethanol, acetone and carbon tetrachloride at room temperature. It is soluble in Hot Chlorinated Hydrocarbons and aromatic solvents, but when the solvent is cooled, it precipitates or gels. The flash point is about 285 C. The United States, Japan and many other countries are licensed to manufacture food packaging materials.

Purpose  of  EBS

Application of EBS in plastic processing because there are polar amide groups in EBS molecules, EBS has processing lubrication and low-temperature anti sticking effect on polymer resins. EBS can be inserted into the polymer resin to reduce the interaction between resin molecules and act as an internal lubricant; On the other hand, EBS can prevent it from adhering to the metal surface and play an external lubrication role by the mutual friction between resin melt internal processing equipment. Therefore, EBS mainly plays the role of lubricating release agent in plastic processing, improving the quality of plastic products and improving the appearance of products. Secondly, it also plays the role of anti sticking, smooth, antistatic, improving pigment dispersion and auxiliary stability. Application in rubber processing EBS can be used as lubricant, anti adhesion agent, release agent, filler surface modifier and surface treatment agent of hard rubber in rubber processing. Its outstanding performance is to improve the surface gloss of rubber plate, rubber hose and other products and play the role of surface brightener. Use in casting when casting the shell, EBS can be added as lubricant in the mixture of resin and sand.

Application in metal processing when drawing iron wire, the use of EBS can improve the wire drawing speed, prolong the service life of metal mold and improve the smoothness of iron wire surface. In addition, in powder metallurgy molding, EBS is used for bonding before metal melting, and EBS is used as the lubricant of metal mold, which can reduce the wear of metal mold. Paper coating 1% EBS can improve the brightness of paper coating. Because of its high melting point, it does not decompose during heat sealing operation. This paper can be used for food packaging. In the coating industry, EBS can be used as pigment grinding aid and dispersant. In addition, adding EBS to coatings and paints can improve their salt water resistance and water resistance, and improve the smoothness of baking surface. Defoamer is used as the main active component of amide defoamer in pulping and papermaking process. Synthetic fiber antistatic agent 33% EBS can be used as antistatic agent for synthetic fiber.

Other EBS can be used as the melting point improver of petroleum products. Adding EBS to adhesives and waxes has the effect of anti caking and good demoulding. Adding EBS to asphalt can increase the softening point, reduce the viscosity and improve the corrosion resistance to water or acid. Adding EBS to the paint remover can improve the properties of the wax layer.

EBS as polyoxymethylene lubricant has good application effect. The result is that the addition of 0.5% EBS to polyoxymethylene improves the melt flow rate and demoulding performance, and the whiteness, thermal stability and physical indexes of polyoxymethylene reach the indexes of high-grade products.

EBS is applied to the soft PVC water belt, the processing current is reduced by 8-10A, the power consumption is saved, and the effect of film-forming opening is improved.

EBS is applied to the produced PVC hard sheet, which improves the fluidity of materials and prevents the agglomeration of special materials. In addition, EBS has also achieved good results in the production of HDPE tear film.
