1. What is ethylene bis stearamide ( Hereinafter referred to as EBS) ?

EBS is white or light yellow, similar to solid wax in shape. It is a hard and tough synthetic wax. The raw materials of EBS are stearic acid and ethylenediamine.

Sainuo produces EBS with stearic acid made of imported vegetable oil, with very high carbon content. The production process adopts Japanese Kao, which can completely replace Kao and Malay products in terms of dispersion.

Sainuo EBS has high purity and good thermal stability; with low dust, high whiteness, and good melt transparency; Bright and well dispersed, with certain anti-static properties, meeting FDA requirements.

It can be used in Phenolic resin, rubber, asphalt, powder coating, pigment, ABS, nylon, polycarbonate, fiber (ABS, nylon), engineering plastic modification, coloring, glass fiber reinforcement, flame retardant toughening, etc

2. What is the main function of ethylene bis stearamide?

EBS can be used as: internal and external lubricant, antistatic agent, nucleation transparent agent, dispersant, release agent, anti caking agent, matting agent, degassing agent, opening agent (anti bonding), non silicon defoamer, and improving fat dissolving (MI), etc.

3. What are the advantages of EBS?

EBS has no effect on the thermal stability, appearance, color, transparency and other physical properties of the products.

4.Action principle of EBS

Internal lubricant: due to the existence of polar amide groups in EBS molecules, it has processing lubrication and low-temperature anti sticking effect on polymer resin. EBS can be inserted into polymer resin to reduce the interaction between resin molecules. 

External lubricant: EBS has limited compatibility with resin and can be pulled from the interior of the resin to the surface, which reduces the mutual friction between resin particles and between resin melt and processing equipment, prevents it from adhering to the metal surface and plays the role of external lubrication.

EBS is used as a lubricating film remover in plastic processing, which can improve the quality and appearance of plastic products.

5. Scope of application of EBS

(1) Plastic

In many thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, as internal and external slip agents, the most representative ones, such as ABS, PS,AS and PVC, can also be applied to PE, PP, PVAc, cellulose acetate, nylon, phenolic resin and amino plastics, with good finish and film removal.

In the thermoplastic pur injection molding process, the additive also acts as an internal film remover, with an addition amount of 0.1 ~ 1%.

As a polyoxymethylene lubricant, the addition amount is 0.5%, which improves the melt flow rate, improves the film removal, and the whiteness, thermal stability and various physical indexes of polyoxymethylene reach the indexes of high-grade products.

(2) Rubber

Synthetic resin and rubber such as Yinyl, polychloroprene, GRS (SBR) add 1 ~ 3% EBS into their emulsion, which has good anti sticking and anti caking effect. EBS is applied to rubber products such as automobile floor mats and drainage pipes to increase surface gloss.

(3) Chemical fiber

EBS can improve the heat resistance, weather resistance and fluidity of polyester and polyamide fibers, and give certain antistatic effect.

(4) Release agent

Phenolic resin for casting sand and EBS can be used as release agent.

(5) Pigment, filler and dispersant

EBS as plastic Pigment dispersant of chemical fiber color masterbatch, such as ABS, PS, polypropylene and polyester masterbatch.

EBS can also be used as diffusion powder for plastic color matching.

According to the addition amount of pigment filler, the addition amount is 0.5 ~ 5%

(6) Powder coating

EBS can be used as a flow aid for powder coatings.

(7) Paint, ink

When manufacturing coatings and paints, adding 0.5 ~ 2% EBS can improve the salt spray and moisture-proof effect; Adding this product to the coating can improve the performance of paint remover and improve the leveling of baked enamel surface.

It can be used as a matting agent in furniture polishing agent and printing ink.
