1. Under sunlight, there are striped pigment bands in the product
This issue needs to be considered from two aspects: the physical and mechanical properties of plastics and the plastic molding process.
Possible cause: The temperature of the injection molding equipment is not well controlled, and the color masterbatch cannot be fully mixed with the resin after entering the mixing chamber. The injection molding machine did not apply a certain amount of back pressure, and the mixing effect of the screw was not good. Poor dispersion of color masterbatch or poor resin plasticization.
Solution: In terms of process, the temperature of the rear section of the mixing chamber can be slightly increased and a certain back pressure can be applied to the injection molding machine. If the above adjustments still do not work, it may be due to a mismatch between the dispersibility of the color masterbatch, resin, and the color masterbatch matrix.
2. Products colored with color masterbatch are prone to cracking
The occurrence of this problem may be related to the compatibility between the carrier of the color masterbatch used and the base material of the product, or the poor diffusion and mutual solubility of the dispersant or other additives used in the formula, which affects the physical and mechanical properties of the produced product and causes the product to easily crack.

This problem may seem simple, but there are many reasons that can lead to it. In addition to the reasons for the color masterbatch itself, the first step is to check whether the type of carrier resin used for the color masterbatch matches the resin used for the product base material, carefully confirm whether the addition and measurement are accurate (especially in some small and medium-sized enterprises where there is often random measurement), and investigate and adjust the temperature or speed of the production machine, To avoid uneven dispersion of color masterbatch when dissolved in the base material.
4. Why do products produced by different injection molding machines have different shades of color for the same color masterbatch, resin, and formula?
This is often caused by the injection molding machine. Due to differences in manufacturing, usage time, or maintenance status, different injection molding machines have different mechanical states, especially the difference in the tightness between the heating element and the material barrel, resulting in different dispersion states of the color masterbatch in the material barrel. This phenomenon can occur.
5. Why does the color change after changing to a different resin for the same color masterbatch and formula?
This is because different resins have different properties such as density and melt index, and the compatibility between different resins and color masterbatches also varies, resulting in color changes. Generally, if the difference in density and melt index of resins is not significant, the color difference will not be too significant. 6. Color masterbatch migrates during storage
Some color masterbatches have high pigment or dye content, especially those with high dye content, which may experience severe migration. Migration of such masterbatches generally does not affect normal use, as the pigment or dye molecules in the masterbatch will be at normal color concentration in the product during injection molding.
7. What is the reason for the poor glossiness of injection products?
The poor gloss of injection products may be related to the low temperature of injection molding machine nozzle, poor smoothness of injection molding machine mold, long molding cycle of production products, excessive content of titanium dioxide in color masterbatch or formula, insufficient dispersion of color masterbatch and other reasons.
8. Discoloration of plastic products colored with color masterbatch
The main reason for the fading phenomenon of color masterbatch coloring products is related to the poor color fastness performance of the pigments selected for color masterbatch production, such as light resistance and weather resistance.
