Many PVC manufacturers place great importance on the acid value of ope wax when choosing lubricants. Why is this? In the actual processing of PVC, the higher the acid value, the faster the plasticization rate of the oxidized pe wax increases. The acid value represents the polarity of the oxidized polyethylene wax and is positively correlated. The higher the acid value, the greater the polarity of the oxidized pe wax.
What are the effects of acid value of ope wax on PVC processing?
1. Make the melt or workpiece easy to demould: Oxidized polyethylene wax can reduce the adhesion of the melt to the metal surface of the processing equipment through external lubrication, thus making the melt or workpiece easy to detach from the metal mold.
2. Reduce equipment wear: Oxidized pe wax can reduce the friction between materials and the metal surface of processing equipment through external lubrication, thus reducing the wear of the metal surface of processing equipment.
3. Improving processing and production rate: Oxidized pe wax can reduce melt viscosity and improve melt fluidity through internal lubrication, thereby increasing the processing and production rate of PVC products.
4. Reduce processing power consumption: Oxidized wax can reduce material friction and heat generation, thereby reducing the heat loss of mechanical force and thus reducing the power consumption of product processing.
5. Optimize the mechanical properties of PVC products: The mechanical properties (strength, hardness, toughness) of PVC products can only reach the optimal value at an appropriate plasticization degree. Oxidized wax is an effective plasticizing control agent. Therefore, reasonable use can optimize the mechanical properties of PVC products
6. Improving the aesthetic performance of products: The easy demolding nature of oxidized wax determines the surface smoothness of PVC products. In addition, oxidized wax can also improve the glossiness and smoothness of the product surface.
The higher the acid value of oxidized polyethylene wax, the faster the plasticization rate increases. At the same time, it is more inclined towards internal lubrication, and the effect of external lubrication will be relatively weakened. It is suitable for PVC products with higher plasticization requirements, such as PVC flooring, PVC stone plastic wall panels, and other high filling products. The lower the acid value of oxidized polyethylene wax, the weaker the internal lubrication effect, and the stronger the external lubrication effect. It is more suitable for PVC products with high surface requirements for later demolding, such as shrinkage films and rolled sheets.
