What's ithe impact of the amount of ope wax added in the production of PVC products?

OPE wax has special properties such as low viscosity, high softening point, and good hardness. It is non-toxic, has good thermal stability, low volatility at high temperatures, and has excellent dispersion of fillers and pigments. It has excellent external lubrication and strong internal lubrication. At the same time, its chemical properties are also very excellent, with good compatibility with fillers, pigments, and polar resins. It is superior to polyethylene wax in lubrication and dispersion, and is an upgraded version of polyethylene wax.

In the plastic processing industry, the internal and external lubrication of PVC is relatively balanced; Adding oxidized polyethylene wax to hard, transparent, and opaque PVC formulations results in better lubricity than other lubricants. It is widely used in the production of PE and PVC cables, PVC profiles, and pipes, and is an excellent new type of plastic processing lubricant.

In the formula of PVC soft products, excessive use of oxidized polyethylene wax can cause frost and affect the strength, high-frequency welding, and printability of the product. If there is too little, it will stick to the roller. For blow molding, it will stick to the mold, making it easy for the plastic to coke inside the mold.

In hard PVC products, excessive use of oxidized polyethylene wax can lead to a decrease in strength and also affect process operations. For injection molded products, peeling may occur, especially near the gate.

From this, it can be seen that PVC processing is a technical activity. To produce good PVC products, different lubricant combinations need to be selected based on the end products, which can meet the long-term stable and high yield production requirements while also meeting the cost requirements.

So, do you know the difference between polyethylene wax and oxidized polyethylene wax?

Polyethylene wax, also known as polymer wax. Due to its excellent cold resistance, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and wear resistance, it has been widely used. In normal production, this wax can be directly added to polyolefin processing as an additive, which can increase the light translation and processing performance of the product. As a lubricant, it has stable chemical properties and good electrical properties.

Oxidized polyethylene wax has a certain amount of carbonyl and hydroxyl groups in its molecular chain. Oxidized polyethylene wax is an excellent new type of polar wax, which significantly improves its compatibility with fillers, pigments, and polar resins. Its lubricity and dispersibility are better than those of polyethylene wax, while also possessing coupling properties. At present, oxidized polyethylene wax is widely used in foam boards. PVC foam boards are the most difficult to produce and have the most problems to solve in PVC products. Adding oxidized polyethylene wax can significantly accelerate plasticization, and the uniqueness of oxidized polyethylene wax can be seen here.
