Advantages and disadvantages of glass fiber reinforced materials(Two)

2020-03-03

In the previous article, we introduced the advantages of glass fiber reinforced materials. In this article, Qingdao Sainuo polyethylene wax manufacturers will continue to take you to understand the disadvantages of glass fiber reinforced materials.

Disadvantage:

1.     After the glass fiber is reinforced, it is transparent before adding glass fiber due to the addition of glass fiber, and it will become opaque after adding glass fiber;

2.     After the glass fiber is strengthened, the toughness of all plastics decreases and the brittleness increases;

3.     After the glass fiber is reinforced, due to the addition of glass fiber, the melt viscosity of all materials increases, and the fluidity becomes worse. The injection pressure is much higher than that without glass fiber;

4.     After the glass fiber is reinforced, due to the addition of glass fiber, the fluidity is poor. For normal injection molding, the injection temperature of all reinforced plastics must be increased by 10 ° C-30 ° C than before the addition of glass fiber;

5.     After the glass fiber is reinforced, due to the addition of glass fiber and additives, the hygroscopic performance of the reinforced plastic is greatly enhanced. The original non-water-absorbing plastic will also become water-absorbing. Therefore, it must be dried during injection molding.
