1. It is used as a non-toxic heat stabilizer for PVC and has excellent lubricity. It is often used for soft products requiring non-toxic, such as food packaging film and medical devices. When used in hard products together with basic lead salts and lead soaps, the gel speed can be improved. This product is used in polyethylene and polypropylene to eliminate the adverse effect of residual catalyst on the color and stability of the resin. It is also widely used as lubricant and release agent for polyolefin, polyester reinforced plastics, phenolic resin, amino resin and other thermosetting plastics. The disadvantage is that it has initial coloration. When the heating time is longer than 100 ℃, the white PVC plastic will turn slightly red, especially when there is titanium dioxide in the formula, the coloration is particularly serious. When the dosage of this product is large, there is segregation and scaling phenomenon

Calcium stearate is also a leveling agent and water-resistant agent for adhesives and coatings, and is widely used in chemical production processes such as plastics and rubber, with low toxicity and good processing performance. It has synergistic effect with zinc soap and epoxy compound to improve thermal stability.

3. It is used as lubricating and releasing agent in oilfield operation. It can also be used as a halogen absorber for polyethylene and polypropylene to eliminate the adverse effect of residual catalyst on color and stability. As a plasticizer in rubber processing, it can soften natural rubber and synthetic rubber, but has little effect on vulcanization. It is also used as thickener for lubricating grease, waterproof agent for textiles, smoothing agent for paints, plasticizer for making plastic records, etc.

4. It is used in cosmetics. When added to the powder, it has strong adhesion to the powder, good lubricity, even spread and good formability.

As an additive, calcium stearate has been widely used in the chemical industry and is an indispensable additive in many industries. 1. The amount of calcium stearate added to PVC transparent products shall not exceed 0.5 phr, otherwise the transparency of PVC transparent products will be affected.

2. The addition amount of calcium stearate in lead salt composite stabilizer should be strictly controlled. Excessive addition will lead to over-plasticization and decrease of mechanical strength.

3. In the calcium-zinc composite heat stabilizer system, if the proportion of calcium stearate is too low, the initial heat stability of PVC products will be poor, and if the proportion is too high, the color of PVC products will be yellow and the weather resistance will be poor;

4. The decomposition temperature of AC foaming agent after adding calcium stearate will drop from 211 ℃ to 162 ℃, so it is necessary to pay attention to properly increase the amount of stabilizer when using.
