Application of  polyethylene wax in PVC

PE wax is a low molecular weight polyethylene wax, with a general molecular weight of around 2000-5000. The main components are straight chain alkanes (with a content of 80-95%), as well as a small amount of alkanes with individual branched chains and monocyclic alkanes with long side chains. It has been widely used in the processing of hard, soft, and foamed PVC products:

1. Provide good lubrication during extrusion, rolling, injection, and injection molding processes to ensure excellent demolding performance.

2. Does not affect transparency in PVC mixtures

Due to its good mechanical properties, electrical properties, dispersibility, fluidity and chemical stability, PE wax is widely used not only in PVC foamed products, but also in PVC pipes, profiles, films, cables and other plastics and rubber. Especially in the PVC/calcium zinc heat stabilizer formula, the application of PE wax to adjust the overall lubrication effect of the formula can improve the production efficiency of PVC processing, improve the appearance of the finished product, and assist the heat stabilizer component in better exerting the heat stability effect.

Application of oxidized polyethylene wax in PVC

In the plastic processing industry, the internal and external lubrication effect of oxidized polyethylene wax on PVC is relatively balanced. Adding oxidized polyethylene wax to rigid, transparent, and opaque PVC formulations has better lubricity than other lubricants. It is widely used in the production of PE and PVC cables, PVC profiles, and pipes, and is an excellent new type of plastic processing lubricant. It can also be used as raw and auxiliary materials for the production of textile softeners, car waxes, and leather softeners.

Oxidized polyethylene wax has polarity and can combine with PVC resin. Through scanning electron microscopy, we can find that compared to PE wax, oxidized wax can better coat every PVC particle, which is equivalent to accurately putting on a lubricating coat for every PVC particle. Therefore, during the processing, no matter how the screw is cut, it will not lose lubrication performance and ensure demolding performance in the later stage of processing; The internal lubrication effect of oxidized polyethylene wax can also promote plasticization, thereby improving processing efficiency and increasing the daily production volume of the factory; And in PVC products filled with high calcium powder, oxidized polyethylene wax can provide better protection for the screw, thereby extending the service life of the screw.
