What properties should the pe wax used for color masterbatch have?

1. Heat resistance

Because the molding temperature of PP is generally 220~260°C, and at present, the casting film Masterbatch has a film forming temperature as high as 300 °C,above, so the low molecular weight polyethylene wax is required to have good heat resistance. Generally, the weight loss of imported low molecular weight polyethylene wax at 300 °C is less than 5% , and the better domestic low molecular weight polyethylene wax can also meet this standard. But the addition of paraffin wax or HDPE by-product and other dispersants, poor heat resistance, will affect the quality of color masterbatch.

2. Molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. Generally, the molecular weight of low molecular weight polyethylene is between 2000 ~ 5000. Distribution: the molecular weight of imported low molecular weight polyethylene is about 5, while the molecular weight distribution of domestic low molecular weight polyethylene is about 10. 

3. Ash content. Ash content is one of the most important indexes for color masterbatch of fiber. 

4. Peculiar Smell. Because color masterbatch is often used in food packaging and other products, so in the selection of polyethylene wax must be considered.
